About Kodeby

Millions can build. Few can make a living from it. We're here to change that.

With AI and modern tools, more people than ever can build useful software. The hard part has moved: being found, being trusted and being paid. Kodeby is a marketplace built for that part, for independent creators and the businesses that need what they make.

Our promise

Build something. Share it with the world. Get rewarded for the value you create.

Our principle

We don't promise success. We provide the opportunity, tools and marketplace to pursue it.

How we measure ourselves

Not by how many apps or visitors we have, but by how many creators can make a living from what they build.

What we stand for

The rules we hold ourselves to, from the first app on.

  • Money never buys visibility
Picks are made by people for what an app does. Sponsors, partners and Kodeby's own products get no better placement.
  • Opportunity, not a guarantee
We don't promise sales or a salary. We give good work a real chance to be found.
  • Every way in counts
Educated, self-taught or building with AI, with any tool. What matters is what the software does for people.
  • Your checkout, your customers
Buyers pay you directly with the payment provider you already use. Kodeby is never in the way.
  • Honest numbers
Clicks, reported sales and verified sales are always kept apart, so nobody is fooled by a big number.
  • Continuity without ownership
Creators can declare what happens if they stop. Kodeby never takes ownership of anyone's code.

How it works

Three steps, straight from what Kodeby stands for.

  1. 1
    Build something
You make the tool, with any language, framework or AI assistant. Educated, self-taught or AI-assisted: every way in counts.
  2. 2
    Share it with the world
Kodeby shows it to people looking for exactly that, and sends buyers straight to your own checkout.
  3. 3
    Get rewarded
You see exactly how many came from Kodeby, and which sales were reported and which were verified.

What if the developer stops?

Businesses worry about buying from one person. So every creator can declare a plan, shown on the app page:

Level 1
Documented
Documented and actively maintained by the developer.
Level 2
Successor named
Source code deposited with a named successor developer.
Level 3
Open if abandoned
Becomes open source if the developer stops maintaining it.

This is the creator's own declaration. Kodeby checks that the documentation exists, but does not guarantee continued service.

Where we're going

Kodeby starts as a marketplace. These are the ideas we're working toward, not promises:

Launch weeks

A week where new tools are shown, tried and bought, like a festival for software.

A share of the growth

When Kodeby grows, the creators who make it worth visiting should share in it.

Partners who invest

Larger tech companies supporting the community with funding, credits and challenges, without buying visibility.

Places to meet

Events where an independent creator with a great app can get as much attention as a big company.

The Kodeby vision

A global marketplace for independent creators.

We're building a place where creators, developers and businesses can connect, create value and grow together.
